* WHERE...Portions of northwestern Connecticut and east central New
York.

* IMPACTS...Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses will
quickly become slick and hazardous. Travel could become difficult.

this evening and will continue overnight, gradually decreasing in
intensity after midnight. Snowfall rates of one to two inches an

Description
Bands of heavy snow will continue to move across much of the Mid
Hundson Valley this evening, reducing visibility to less than a
quarter of a mile at times with snowfall rates of 1 to 2 inches
per hour.
Be prepared for difficult travel due to the high snowfall rates,
low visibilities, and snow covered roads. Travel is not
recommended this evening. If travel is necessary, slow down and
allow extra time to reach your destination.

HAZARDS...A band of heavy snow which can rapidly reduce visibility to
less than one mile. This band of heavy snow is producing extremely
heavy snow at the rate of 1 to 2 inches per hour.
LOCATION AND MOVEMENT...At 517 PM EST, a band of heavy snow was along
a line extending from near Downsville to near Olivebridge to near
Peekskill and moving east at 40 MPH.
LOCATIONS IMPACTED INCLUDE...
Poughkeepsie, Kingston, Beacon, New Paltz, Saugerties, Rhinebeck,
Pawling, Hunter, Hyde Park, Milton, Plattekill, Pleasant Valley,
Hurley, Woodstock, Wappingers Falls, Amenia, Livingston, Highland,
Pine Plains, and Fishkill.
This includes Interstate 87 between exits 18 and 20.
